Welcome to Clay Coffee! We are run by a small but mighty team, and our mission is to share our love of ceramics and specialty coffee with our customers.
Our cafe and studio is located at Hemonylaan 6A, Amsterdam 1074BE in the De Pijp neighbourhood of Amsterdam, conveniently placed at the end of the Albert Cuyp Market.
Cafe hours of operation:
- Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 4:00PM
- Saturday 9:00AM - 5:00PM
- Sunday closed

Meet our instructors
Amanda
I started my ceramics journey in 2018, searching for a new creative outlet - clay quickly became my passion. After spending time in various studios, I decided to open Clay Coffee to offer others the chance to explore ceramics for themselves. I especially enjoy teaching intro classes, where I get to see students experience the joy of working with clay for the first time. I love both wheel and hand-building, and I'm on a never-ending journey to create the perfect mug.
Telfer
I'm an Amsterdam-based ceramic artist who has been working with clay since mid-2019. From starting my own studio in Canada, working as a production potter, and teaching courses across studios in Amsterdam, I'm currently the Studio Manager at Clay Coffee. I love bringing my dog Otis to our classes, and in my spare time I like to experiment with different firing techniques and mess around with kilns.
Begum
I am an Amsterdam-based ceramic designer, and have experience in ceramic and porcelain casting, drawing design, hand-building and sculpture. I'm a studio assistant at Clay Coffee, and also teach our courses in Nerikomi. In my spare time I like to research Japanese and Korean ceramic methods and culture.
